Narsingdi is the district that has long been nurtured by the mesmeric rivers like Meghna, Shitalakhsya and Arial Khan. Poet Shamsur Rahman, author Alauddin Al Azad are the monumental figures in Bangla literature who this Narsingdi nurtured.Shahid Asad, the leader of the mass upsurge of 1969, the BirshreshthaMatiur Rahman, poet Shamsur Rahman, literary essayist and critic Dr. Alauddin Al Azad, the first Bengali translator of the holy Quran, Girish Chandra Sen, mathematician Narayan Ch Ghosh, famous poet Hari Acharaya, all of them are the magnanimous personalities of this district. Due to improved communication system and location, the district has emerged as a prosperous district in agriculture, industry, economy, sports and culture. The district is located between24.1344° N and 90.7860° E. Surrounded by Kishoreganj on the north, Brahmanbaria on the east, Narayanganj and Brahmanbaria on the south, and west of Gazipur, on the west, this district has a glorious ancient history. Recently, nearly 3,000 years old civilization was discovered in the name of the Asamrajar Gar in the Wari-Bateshwar area of ​​Belabo Upazilla of the district. Besides, this district has a glorious history of the liberation war. In the eve of the great liberation war of 1971, the freedom fighters strongly resisted the place of the first invasion by the Pakistani force in the district of Panchdona in this district and started the war. An armory of the Pakistan Army and several junta soldiers were killed in this war.
