A special and notable tradition of Narsingdi district is the loom trade which connects Narsingdi with the rest of the districts. Shekher Char (Babur Hat), which is known as East Manchester, is situated in this district. Bangladesh's textile demand is expanding in a massive phase and Babur Hat (Shekher Char) is taking care of a remarkable portion Bangladesh’s loom industry. Many industrial factories have been formed here. These include: Thermax Group, Jewel Bhuiyan Group, Bhai Bhai Group (Smart Lungi, Amanat Shah Lungi) and many other organizations. This district has a significant contribution in the production and sale of fruits and vegetables, namely banana, lotkon, pineapple, jackfruit, aubergine, kakrol (spiny gourd), beans, cucumber, papain etc. Golden Jute is also an add-on for this district.
