Narsingdi district has a glorious history in the fields of sports and entertainment. Football, kabaddi, DariyaBada were very popular in the region. SuvashSaha, the player of independent Bangladesh football team, is from Narsingdi district. The renowned player of post-liberation Bangladesh Scooter Gafur was the resident of this district. There are many ancient football clubs in this district. PalashUpazilla GRC Sporting Club was established in 1926. Scooter Gafur was the player of this club. At present, the district’s main stadium Musleh Uddin Bhuiyan Stadium has an estimated capacity of 20,000 people. The stadium accommodates football, handball and basketball playgrounds. Competitive and friendly football and cricket matches are held each year in this ground. Along with the District Football League, Deputy Commissioner Gold Cup Football is an attraction for the sports enthusiasts. Apart from this, many sports have been held in the stadium as national and international football and handball venues. Viewers rush in the Stadium during National and International Games, that include District Football League.Jari songs and spiritual songs are also very popular in the region.
